We consider Fremont the origin of all current day enhanced mandarins. It has a shiny red/orange color, thin easy to peel skin, and a sweet juicy taste. But it also has the 2 major traits a modern day mandarin should not have: lots of seeds and a short shelf life. Nowadays Fremonts are mostly packed for Middle East where taste and color are still valued over hardiness and being seedless. Available mostly in 50-65mm.
