Nova fills the gap between Satsuma and W.Murcott for Turkish mandarin season as Fremonts are not preferred by buyers and Clementines have failed to become a major export item from Turkey. It is strictly an export variety as the domestic market prefers the last remaining Satsumas over Nova’s tough, hard to peel skin. If picked and packed in the right conditions Nova shows a good arrival quality and decent shelf life. Available mostly in 55-80mm.
Recommended period for export is week 50 to week 3.
